At Victoria Pickleball Centre, when we talk about skill ratings, we’re referring to your DUPR rating (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating system). This objective rating helps us ensure fair and competitive play across all our programs and events.

How DUPR Works:

You earn and adjust your DUPR rating by participating in:

Tournaments

Leagues

Self-arranged games that are mutually agreed upon to be submitted into the DUPR system.

The main reason we utilize DUPR is to foster balanced matches.

We believe no one enjoys either a landslide victory or a frustrating defeat.

By using an objective measure like DUPR, we can better group players of similar abilities, leading to more engaging and enjoyable games for everyone.

Not Sure About Your Level?

If you’re new to DUPR or unsure of your current skill level, we recommend taking a private lesson. Our experienced coaches can assess your game and recommend appropriate programs and activities to help you develop and find your perfect fit within our community.

General Skill Level Guidelines:

2.0 – 3.0 (Beginner): These players understand the basic rules and court positioning. They’re still focused on developing fundamental skills like serving, returning, and dinking.

3.0 – 4.0 (Intermediate): Players at this level have solid fundamentals and are beginning to compete more effectively. They’re starting to implement basic strategy and use selective shots to win points.

4.0+ (Advanced): These players typically have years of pickleball experience. They demonstrate consistent control, advanced shot-making, strategic play, and strong court coverage.
